Food Trip: Eat like a Greek

When in Greece, eat like a Greek! We definitely did. Here are our food finds in this beautiful place.

September 2015. Santorini, Greece.

1. Taverna Katina
Located in the dreamy Ammoudi Bay, this was our first food stop.

When you just got off an all-night, all-morning flight, this kind of indulgence would soothe every inch of you!

We had the freshest Greek Salad we've ever had in our lives! And the feta cheese on top was such a treat! (This kind of craving is getting the better of me!). The Saganaki (deep fried cheese! :)) is a must-try when in Greece! Salty cheese and just sinfully yummy! First time to have that appetizer, and well, I'll have it over and over if I'll ever find it in this part of the world.

Fresh catch of octopuses (octopodes?) and squids, and we are so done! Plus, their grilled, (or did we order fried?) pork which we so missed. Being in a Muslim country, you can't just eat out and have those kind of dishes

Good food, good view! What more can you ask for?

Volkan. Not a beer person at all but this was just the tastiest beer that I've had.

We were planning to go up the 241 steps again, and find ourselves the perfect spot for a postcard photo of the Santorini sunset; but this place and this food have to be savored so we stayed in and caught the sunset right there in Ammoudi Bay. And there's nothing to complain about. It was so beautiful!

2. 39 Steps
When you wanna have drinks and dessert after a long day, and you feel that all the places are filled with tourists, and you need some peace and quiet, this charming little dessert shop is just the place for you. Aptly named, as this is just right by the 39th of 241 steps down from Oia to the Bay.

And for those looking for some booze after a heavy meal, they've got their local ale here, the Crazy Donkey!

3.Lucky's Souvlaki
Just by the bus station of Fira, the capital of Santorini, you'll find this stall, and your day is just complete! The Souvlaki is another must-try in Santorini! Perfectly prepped meat with all the mouth-watering flavors! Ahhh!

4. Lolita's Gelato
Highly recommended in Tripadvisor, and well worth the search!

How witty? Nah, never mind wifi. Let's just talk! :D

5. Passaggio
We found the perfect spot to wait up for our Sunset Cruise, and indulged ourselves to a heavenly Greek pastry, Baklava, and some really good coffee! And the view was just stunning.

6. Santorini Yacht Club
The sunset cruise was inclusive of food, soooo...
Meat and veg fresh from the grill. Well, I had seconds, and thirds! And another local beer, Alpha! I missed this kinda meal so much!

I've had this post on my draft for half a year now! Pffft. Bad Blogger right here. I've been killing myself with photos of Greece lately, I ended up posting them on Instagram just to remind myself that there's so much to see, and eat, and do!

Kisses. Hugs. And tastes of paradise.
