Meteor Shower and the Sunrise After

The skies promised some granted wishes last night...

 

23 May 2014 - Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa

 

It was almost a couple of hours drive from dowtown Dubai. Okay, not really. Just a little over an hour, maybe. Unfortunately for us, we didn't know where Bab Al Shams Desert Resort is, and Google Maps refused to give us a route. So there.

After finding our spot in the vast land of sand and more sand, around 11 pm, Friday, we fixed our gazes up in the skies and waited for a shower of meteors.

 

I'll spare you the unwanted details, but I was fine catching (with my little eyes) probably 5 falling rocks from a little before midnight until before sunrise, instead of a hundred an hour that was 'predicted'.

 

This is the day after meteors came raining down on us. The sunrise was pretty melancholic. Or maybe that was the conversation the moon and I had.

 

A couple of things off our list - Stargazing and camping in the deserts. Well not necessarily camping but I got an hour of shuteye right there. Make that three hours. Pardon the one who's working at 9 am, and got home at 7 am.
