The Rain and the Way of the Peaceful Warrior

It was raining late this afternoon. I stepped out of the revolving door, and tiny drops landed on me. I didn't know how much I missed walking in the rain, avoiding puddles, and getting chills with the cold wind.

The world seems a little lonelier when it's raining. But such stillness and quiet stir me up inside and make me see things; suddenly, I get to pay attention to details:

How water puddles reflect the nearby trees and structures, how cars appear more alive probably because drivers become a little more cautious. How early the city becomes illuminated, and how everyone seems a little laid back, even while walking in the pouring rain. Yes, I had a pretty nice half hour going home.

And then I enjoyed a bowl of red fruits cereals and finished reading a book tonight. One good book, all fit for a lone time at home on a chilly Saturday evening. I drew the curtains, turned off the lights, leaving me with the flickers across the room, and my book light allowing me to continue with my journey.

"So i drifted, a stranger in a strange land, caught between two worlds without a handhold on either."

I allowed my mind to travel tonight.
