Exhaustingly Ecstatic

03.27.2011 Dumaguete City.
Definitely the City of Gentle People. Really serene and lovely!

A Sunday, from all the stress the previous day, and a 4-hour sleep, we headed to the South Bus Terminal as early as 4 am. And we got there just on time for the air-conditioned bus: (169Php) going to the port of Lilo-an, Santander. That's three hours of road trip from the city to the southernmost tip of Cebu.

When we got to the port, we bought tickets for the fastcraft (62Php) to the port of Sibulan, had a quick breakfast in the cafeteria, and boarded the boat. It took us just 20minutes to reach Sibulan, island of Negros Oriental, that we barely noticed the big waves.

Sibulan, a municipality north to the city, is a 10-15-minute, 10Php, ride to our destination. Along the way, we passed through the domestic airport of the city which has everyday flights to the Philippine Capital.

And ta-da! Dumaguete City!

First stop: Sans Rival.

Heavenly for us who have such fondness for sweets!

Second Stop: Rizal Boulevard.
The cool sea breeze, the sound of the waves and the trees swaying, the pretty lampposts.
Oh, the comfort and solace!

Third stop: Silliman University.
That famous university, which brought me back to my school days. Especially my high school university.

We didn't get to appreciate the museum because it was a Sunday.
But we got to go to the university park and church and the campuses, of course.

Our means of transportation wherever we go.
8Php.

Fourth stop: Robinson's Place, Dumaguete
lunch time, so we opted to be somewhere a little cooler :)

Fourth Stop: Saint Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral
Thankful for the time, the weather, and everything else.
And it was a Sunday, so we heard the Gospel.

And lit candles and offered prayers by the Belltower.

Fifth Stop: The Plaza
Back to the kids in us. Park. Playground. And all the fun kids have!

We then strolled around, looked for things to shop, or places to stay,
until we got too tired, and thirsty, and sweaty.

And our last stop: Again, Sans Rival.

Silly faces.

The Menu!

Heaven! Happiness!

blueberry cheesecake

sansrival

spaghetti

black sambo, brazo de mercedes, iced chocolate drink

sylvanas for pasalubong.

Then back to Sibulan Port. Fastcraft. Liloan Port. Ceres Bus to the city.

We were too drained with our one day tripping, that we slept through the whole bus ride home.

I'm all out of words to express things, and too lazy to collage photos, so here's the blog post I've been postponing for weeks now. A bit (or more) of everything.

Sunday. Spontaneity. Sweets. Smiles.
