72 Hours in Paris: A Travel Diary

Paris, France - 10 - 12 August, 2016

Paris is always a good idea! Oh, the City of Light know how to charm its audience well!

Day 1. Landed, and checked in at some time past midnight, got some electrical problem in the apartment, tried fixing it in the next hour, couldn't do anything, so we slept it off.

7 am call time. Showered really quick, what with chasing time, and having no heater, well, you have no choice!

Morning
Walked our way from Le Marais to Notre Dame Church. Grabbed breakfast by the Cathedral. Crepes and Croissants and Coffee to go please!

Hopped on the Big Bus Tour Paris, and ticked a lot off in our list in just a day!  Lesson well learned: City sightseeing tour is the best way to experience a new place. You get to experience a lot without being worried on finding your way around, while you choose on what to skip, and what to spend more time on. Yes touristy, but well worth it.

On the Itinerary (Hopping on and off the Big Bus):

Point Zero. Notre Dame Cathedral;
through Musée d’Orsay, Champs-Elysées;
hopped off to take photos by the Arc de Triomphe;

through the Grand Palais;
hopped off at the Trocadero for a splendid view of the city, and with the Eiffel Tower as our backdrop; then the Tour Eiffel up close (oh, I melted!);

Afternoon:
Just rode our way to take the blue route and walked around Montmartre. Grabbed lunch in a Thai place (because we're Filipinos, and we need rice, and we were starving!)
Seen the Sacre Coeur from afar, grabbed lotsa crepe and churros and eclairs on our walks! Happiness!

Found our way to the Louvre Pyramide, and camwhored like crazy!

Evening:
We wanted to take sunset shots by the Trocadero, but it was gloomy, and if I was being honest, I wasn't up for the cold! I was shivering! haha Pardon the girl from the tropics. Instead, we ended our night by the Eiffel Tower, hung around for quite some time enjoying being in the moment. A good variety of food stalls were there, so we grabbed some dinner, and just inhaled the view in. Until we get to see this Iron Lady light up! I still couldn't believe I was there! Magical!

{Day 2 will have to be talked about separately. All about the grand Versailles after this! *.* }

Day 3. Out and about in the city on our own.
Food, and shopping, and quenching the thirst for all things new.

Morning:
Started at Point Zero, of course (again :). Enjoyed the scene and people-watching around Our Lady of Paris (Notre Dame de Paris). Crossed the streets to the place I can't not go into - Shakespeare and Company. I get so giddy in bookshops, It's a weakness. heee!

And then food! If gluttony isn't a sin, I'd be stuffing my mouth with all the good food in Paris.
I diiieee! Sweet and savory crepes, hot chocolate, macarons in all flavors and all pretty colors, quiches, and croissants, and tarts and eclairs. Oh I could go on and on!

Afternoon:
Shopping at the Avenue des Champs-Elysees! Broke but happy.
Souvenir hunting at the Montmartre area, and found out it's lined with endless food stalls and restaurants, you just wanna cry!

Ended our day, and our Paris adventure still hunting for little things to take home. Centre Pompidou is just a couple of blocks away from our apartment, so we just walked around the area, and found some pretty little things. Unrushed evening walks, feeling every little thing that Paris makes you feel.

Kisses. Hugs. And ooohhh, yes, Paris is always a good idea! Except if you're on a diet. Haha
