An Afternoon in Pisa: A Travel Diary

Pisa, Italy -  5 Agosto 2016

From Rome, we took a mid-day train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella Railway Station, dropped our bags (which was quite costly), and were off to another train ride to Pisa.

After minutes of trying to figure out which bus would take us from Pisa Centrale to the tower, we gave up and just walked our way there. No regrets, though. The path was scenic, and ambient, and full of life and story. This little city is a gem! Of pretty little alleys, and amazing food, and shops on sale, and just the perfection between the the city life buzz and the laid back life.

We ate good food along our way, took a lot of photos, laughed and just enjoyed each other's company. Then finally seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa, we camwhored some more (struggling to crop hands of other tourists who are trying to take photos of leaning on the leaning tower. pffft!), inhaled the view and the thought that we're actually standing right in front of the iconic tower! We hung around Piazza dei Miracoli for some time, until it was almost time for our train back to Florence.

Yes, our itinerary was crammed up like that. {Summary soon} Heee. So, after 3 train rides, (Rome-Florence, Florence-Pisa, Pisa-Florence), we finally crashed in our AirBnB in Florence. That was 8 pm, and we were starving. Only to find out that shops in the neighborhood, just few minutes out of the center of Florence, almost everything closes at 6. or 8. Or whatev. We should've known. haha We had to beg Carapina, a gelateria in the neighborhood, to sell us milk so there's something we could have with their pastries (because we only had alcohol in our bags! yep, not even water.) Then, some of us had to go back (it was raining!) and just buy pasta and whatever bottled sauce they have. haha genuine travel experiences! Wooottt!

Kisses. Hugs. And to more bloopers and days forever etched in our memories.
