Ilocos Sur: Churches, Bell towers, and the Zoo

I wanted to follow this DIY Walking Tour in Vigan to be all touristy and discover all there is to see; but what better way to see a place than have a tour with a local - our cousin, ate Cecille. (Yep, the one from That's Entertainment before! :p)

So I've already shown you how amazing Calle Crisologo is and some of the awesome food and finds we had. This will be another set of places to be while you're journeying at another place and time - in Vigan City that is.

Being a well-preserved city, Vigan has lots of museums and ancestral homes where one can know more of the Spanish colonial era. We had so little time in our hands that we weren't able to squeeze it in, and opted to just roam around the heart of Vigan. This little city has two plazas - Plaza Burgos and Plaza Salcedo.

Beautiful lights perfect for night strolls.

Saint Paul Cathedral's Bell Tower

The city hall mailbox.

My love for lampposts.

Right at the gateway of Vigan is the town of Bantay, where we visited another church and bell tower.

And then a quick tour around Singson's Baluarte.

We were more of hurting than enjoying seeing these beautiful creatures caged and almost hurt, so we headed back to our hotel room and freshened up for dinner and prepared for our long night drive.
