The Heart of Bacolod Afternoon

Where to stay in Bacolod? Well, I'd love to spend a night by that pool bar in L'Fisher Chalet; but as we weren't really planning on staying in for long hours, we decided on this suggestion from Sheryl, instead.

11th Street Bed and Breakfast

It was the best place to be in, it's cheap and clean and at the city's heart. So after practically just throwing our stuffs on the bed, charging our phones enough to last half the day, and a quick taste of airconditioning, we were off to the rest of our afternoon.

The Lagoon and the city's plaza. Fish feeding, picnics, chitchats, this is the place to be in. Even dance practices are held here. If not for the scorching sun, I could've spent the next hour under shade of these trees, but unfortunately, the heat was like torture so we had to keep moving. It still is so amazing, even just as an observer. :)

Negros Occidental Capitol

Next up: Lunch. We weren't really hungry yet, since it was just a couple of hours after we had our breakfast in Silay City. I wanted to check out their organic garden but we weren't able to get the directions right. We did understand a word after how many locals instructed us. Bangga in Tagalog and in our Cebuano dialect would mean a crash or a collision. In the Ilonggo dialect, it means the street corner or something like that. And yes, we learned. Yey! :p

So instead of the Organic Garden which would mean lots and lots of vegetables, we asked directions to the Old Pala Pala and really didn't know what to expect. We ended up in a street corner with lots and lots of  Tolahan and still didn't know what we're up for. After lots of inquiries from some locals, we ended up choosing whichever of the stalls, and sat. Still not knowing how it goes, we just let them serve us whatever bestsellers they have. We ended up with this! :)
Oh so yummy shrimps in butter and garlic and some orange sauce. Whatever it's called, it was perfect! :) We also had some tinolang isda, and it was also superb! Pala-pala, you are amazing!

So how does it really work? You are supposed to buy the fresh ingredients,  ie. seafood and veggies from their wet market, bring them to your chosen stall and have them cooked however you want them. So guys and girls, enjoy your pala-pala! Though we savored it till the last bit, forgetting that we weren't hungry, I would also have liked the experience of marketing, eventhough I don't know the art of it. Haha
The Lagoon, at night.

Up next: The Ruins. Wait for it! :)
