Enchanted!

09 July 2011

It was the weekend after my father's burial, and there I was, diverting. I got these plane tickets to and from Manila more than a month ago supposedly to visit him, but it was too late for that.

But well-planned plans should be pushed through. And the night before I had to fly there again, I asked my father's permission telling him that I was hoping to enjoy that weekend, and that I wouldn't offend him if I do.

And voila! Thank you, Pa.

Airport. Airplane.

As soon as we landed, we took a fixed-rate cab going to Makati in search of an affordable place to stay. The driver let us drop by a travel agency to inquire about that; and unfortunately, it was Makati, so the cheapest that they had for us was Makati Citadell Inn. And it was not cheap at all. But no complaints about that though.

When we got to the hotel, we just dropped our stuffs and headed straight to the Intercontinental Hotel open parking (Ayala Center, beside SM Makati, just below the Ayala MRT station) for the shuttle ride going to Enchanted Kingdom.

The total cost was at 810Php, inclusive of the back and forth ride from Makati, and the entrance fee of  500Php.

We waited for almost two hours because they had to either wait for 18 passengers to fill the van, or for the clock to strike 12:30PM; whichever comes first.

Photos while waiting for our ride to go.
It took us only 30 minutes to get to Santa Rosa, Laguna from Makati.
And here we are!

Our first ride: The Flying Fiesta

And we were so gutsy and the adrenaline overwhelmed our thinking, that we went for
the Space Shuttle right away.
The ride was super scary! That feeling that you wanted to shout but your voice fails you, and you can't do anything but close your eyes. I thought I had either a heart attack or an asthma attack.
But it was sooo worth the feeling. It makes you say your prayers to The One Above, thanking Him for keeping you alive.
And supposedly to cool us down, we wanted to get wet and wild. But the Rio Grande Rapids was not yet open so we went for the Jungle Log Jam.
Another ride that took my breath away!
And yes, we got wet after that!

Just after our third ride, our heads were already spinning, so we took a break.
Snacked, and lounged, and camwhored.

Knowing that we couldn't control that feeling of nauseousness, we continued the head-turning, stomach-churning and breath-taking rides.
Anchors Away!

And then the Rio Grande Rapids.
Taken away by the current, it was one relaxing (for me) and fun ride!
And this time, we were dripping wet! :)

And the Roller Skater.
Since we have tried the Space Shuttle, this time, our eyes were open the whole time, and we had lots of fun shouting and laughing. But no one's denying, every turn, we held on tighter :))
Woohoo!

And the EKstreme Tower Ride
(aka the Abyss, since most of my companions have already been to Hong Kong Ocean Park. hmp! haha bitter!)
So we were slowly raised up to 150 feet above ground-level and then suddenly dropped down. Imagine, how breath taking that is!

The ride has a separate fee from the ride-all-you-can ticket we had. It was for 80Php.

And then, of course, who would miss the Grand Carousel?

After all those, we needed something to fill our tummies and they had a lot for us!
Munch time!

We also watched a 15-minute clip, Mumble's Wild Ride, at the Rialto.

And my favorite feel of the place. I could daydream all day long that I were in some place faraway.
I so love this part of the Theme Park.
Yes, we missed some rides because it rained really hard at around 6PM. We needed shelter and some place to eat and rest, while waiting for the fireworks display at around 8:30PM.
And since our ride back to our place was driving off at 9PM, we had some time to take some more photos before going out of the place.

They named the place very suitably. It was really an Enchanted Kingdom, and it was all so enchanting to me!

But it was time to wake up and grow up.

We were brought back to SM Makati at around 10 PM. Malls were already closed. We strolled around the place, and stayed at Greenbelt 4/5 for a while.
And then to the hotel. Yes it was supposedly an inn. but look at our room!
Huh!

We were too tired when we got there, so we had quick noodles, quick freshening up, and then bed.
This is an excerpt of that weekend. Tomorrow's the other part :)
